Here at the Stunning Headquarters we are looking ahead to figure out what we can expect to see lots of, at our 2019 events. Here are some of the trends we expect to see becoming increasingly popular…
Festival themed events
A fun, relaxed vibe for a party or wedding is becoming increasingly popular with engaged couples. Details such as festival flags leading to the entrance of the teepees, hay bales for some laid-back outdoor seating, wild flowers for floral crowns and informal bouquets, and food trucks are all great ideas to really capture the chilled-out vibe so many people are looking for on their big day.
It’s all about the lighting.
We can provide a variety of lighting options for your event, and we are seeing more and more events making a feature out of lighting, rather than it just being functional.
We can provide magical festoon lighting within or outside the teepees, creating pathways from tent to tent, or even to indicate a path to the loos/car park. For some added sparkle, we love the look of our twinkly fairy lights wrapped around the internal poles of the teepees to give a starry summer night feel. To indicate your dancing space within the structure, we can add disco lights and moving heads to create a nightclub dance floor effect.
Outside the tents, we can place external uplighters around the perimeter of the tents to throw light into trees, toward a lake or pond, and other outdoor features.
If you are going for a rustic, natural feel, we can provide bamboo flame torches to indicate a pathway or perimeter around the teepees.
Greenery galore!
Bringing the outdoors indoors is a popular trend. With the British weather being predictable in its unpredictability, it’s advisable to utilise a structure such as our teepees to account for less than ideal weather. This being said, we are seeing a lot of heavy foliage, dried hops (we love to get ours from here), and vines wrapped around all of the poles in the tents giving it a natural, outdoorsy feel while having the comfort of overhead cover and style of the teepee tents themselves.
Garlands, wreaths, arches, and decorative hoops are also proving to be firm favourites. We can provide decorative hoops for hire as a single hoop, or as a trio of ascending sizes depending on your preference. To see images of the hoops, visit our Finishing Touches page here.
Eco-friendly details
As a company, we are proud to work ethically and sustainably. Since we started out in 2003, we have always done our utmost to behave ethically, deliver a professional service, and minimise our impact on the environment.
One of our beautiful couples, Rowena & Adam, had a vegan wedding at Rowena’s family home. Their food and drink included all vegan options, and decorations were made from flowers and linen. Rowena even sourced a faux silk fabric for her dress designer, to ensure her dress was animal friendly. Keep an eye out for a future blog post on this beautiful day.
Zero waste is another important aspect of holding a green event, and can be achieved by redesigning or reusing items that may otherwise be thrown away. One great way to practice this philosophy is with your table decorations, which can be accomplished by featuring flowers which can be replanted. A simple yet beautiful example of this is shown below in the image of the potted lavender.
